At Flawless Rejuvenation, we are frequently asked how to treat and manage vascular abnormalities. You may be surprised to know there are many evidence-based treatment approaches, which can produce very successful outcomes.
Your first step is to understand what condition you have and what some of the contributing factors are. This will be discussed in detail during an initial consultation. Our degree qualified Dermal Clinicians will identify your condition and develop a tailor-made treatment plan to help you achieve your desired results.
Education is also a really important factor when it comes to managing redness, as there are many lifestyles and genetic factors that can play a part. So what do you need to know?
##What are the most common conditions?##
**Rosacea** - A condition in which certain facial blood vessels enlarge, giving the cheeks and nose a flushed appearance. There are different severities of rosacea with some types involving acne.
**Dilated capillaries and Diffused Redness** (Facial Flushing) – Flushing or rosy cheeks due to dilated capillaries in the skin. Flushing can appear worse when hot, stressed or embarrassed. Dilated capillaries or 'spider veins' are also commonly found on the body.
**Leg Veins** (Reticular) – Visible leg veins can appear blue, red or purple depending on if the vein is oxygenated or non-oxygenated and the depth or location in the skin. A reticular vein sits under the surface if the skin. Managing this condition early on will assist in the prevention of varicose veins.
**Leg Veins** (Varicose) – A varicose vein is typically protruding from the skin creating a lumpy appearance. These veins will usually require a specialist appointment. Our medical Dr can refer you to the appropriate physician if required.
##What are my treatment options?##
**Excel V** Our excel V is a specialist vascular laser which utilises two very targeted wavelengths to treat superficial and deep veins. This laser is the gold standard in vascular treatments and has been medically tested to treat a variety of conditions such as rosacea, spider veins, leg veins and diffused redness. 1-3 treatments are typically required for best outcomes.
Treatments are usually spaced out 4-8 weeks apart and are each 15-45 minutes in duration.
Clients will usually feel a mild stinging sensation as the treatment is performed. This treatment is extremely well tolerated. Some mild speckled like bruising could occur in some sensitive areas depending on the condition we are treating. This can be covered with makeup and will fade over the next few days.
Laser Genesis utilises a gentle dose of laser light, which stimulates collagen production in the skin. Over time clients notice a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, a reduction in skin redness and an improved skin tone and texture.
6-8 treatments every 4-6 weeks is recommended as an initial course of treatment. You can then reduce your treatment frequency to maintain results. Treatment duration is 45 minutes for a full-face treatment.
Clients find this treatment extremely comfortable. There is no downtime for this procedure. We describe it as warm raindrops on the skin.
