Skin Texture

Smooth and refine texture

A number of factors affect skin texture, causing superficial or deep changes in the skin biology. Who doesn’t want a skin free of roughness and flakiness, large pores, acne scars and wrinkles.

Unfortunately, the ultra-perfect image that glossy magazines portray is gained with airbrushing, studio lighting and make up that is simply unrealistic in real life. Fortunately, there are treatments and skin care that can gain genuine, yet realistic results, to improve skin texture.

Skin Texture Treatments

Surface skin texture treatments

The uppermost layer of the skin, the epidermis, is where surface texture concerns such as roughness and flakiness appears. Exfoliating procedures such as HydraFacial, light skin peels and microdermabrasion will remove excess skin cells and even the epidermis. A series of treatments is usually required to achieve optimal results. An at-home skincare regime is then essential to maintain results in-between and after treatments.

Deep skin texture treatments

The biological changes that result in enlarge pores, acne scars and wrinkles sit deeper with in the skin, in the dermis. Fraxel Skin Resurfacing and DermaPen Skin Needling encourage growth of new collagen, a structural protein in the skin much like scaffolding. With a series of treatments enlarged pore, acne scars and fine line will be reduced. In addition, dermal fillers can lift depressed scars and deep lines, while anti-wrinkle injections can reduce lines caused my facial expression (eg. frown, crow’s feet, and forehead lines).
