A number of factors contribute to an aging appearance. Not only does the skin lose its elasticity, but the ligaments in the face become looser and stretched over time, contributing to facial sagging. Ligaments are the connective tissues in the body that hold things in place. They are essentially responsible for anchoring the skin and fat to the underlying bone. When these structures slacken, it can make our facial skin appear sagged.
The True Lift technique is so named for its targeting of these fibrous ligaments, or ‘true ligaments,’ in the face by injecting them with filler. What to expect
After the consultation and development of your personalised treatment plan, you should allow at least 45 minutes for the procedure itself. The procedure is not associated with pain. There may be some mild discomfort, but this will be eased by a topical anesthetic.
Not all types of fillers are capable of providing the support necessary for a successful True Lift. For this reason, a specifically designed high-density filler is used. The filler will be carefully injected under the four key ligaments in your skin. This process will provide the ligaments with extra support and lift, tightening and restoring strength to these underlying structures.
The True Lift technique will leave you with a more youthful and refreshed appearance, with immediate results after one just session. In some cases, the filler can also have a slimming and smoothening effect on the face.
Things to consider
Patients will usually experience some degree of swelling, redness, and tenderness after the procedure. These symptoms are common and should resolve within a few days. It is recommended that you do not pursue any laser treatments during the healing process due to the risk of inflammation. Makeup and lipstick should also be avoided. This will give your skin the opportunity to heal and minimise the risk of complications.
There is practically no downtime after this procedure. The small puncture sites caused by the needle may be present for a day or so afterwards, but this does not typically inhibit patients from resuming their normal daily activities.
